What sets Polarity apart from other holistic modalities?
Intent – Polarity is based on the basic law of energy which states: “Form follows energy; and energy follows intent.” In other words, the body and its condition are but a physical manifestation of the energetic patterns within and around it, and making changes in the energy will result in changes in the physical body. The intent of the Polarity Practitioner is to unblock and balance the personal energetic fields of the client by utilizing a large array of energetic and hands-on techniques, to facilitate balance and healing at all levels.
Energetic Assessment – Polarity is unique among the holistic modalities in that it is based on the ability of the practitioner to read and assess the energetic patterns of the body. Rather than working with a generalized concept of “energy,” the therapist is trained to recognize and interpret specific energetic patterns (which are unique to each individual) in the language of the five elements: ether/space, air, fire, water and earth. The Polarity Practitioner works with the client to bring these elemental energies into balance through communication, polarity bodywork, energetic food awareness, polarity exercises and lifestyle changes.

Education – There are two intensive levels of Polarity training, both of which meet the requirements and follow the current standards of practice as determined by the American Polarity Therapy Association, the national governing board:
The Associate Polarity Practitioner (APP) certification is a 155-hour, 6-level program in basic elemental assessment and balancing.
The Registered Polarity Practitioner (RPP) training is a 530-hour, 10-level course of study which builds on the APP foundation, and consists of advanced polarity theory, assessment and specialty protocols, communication, energetic food awareness, polarity exercise, basic craniosacral techniques, and energetic anatomy as well as 90 hours of orthodox anatomy and physiology.
You can be assured that each Polarity Practitioner has completed a rigorous training program and has met or exceeded the strict standards as set forth by the American Polarity Therapy Association.
